Welcome to episode 36 of the Yay for Business Podcast!
In episode 8 (“I have ADHD”), I shared my story about my ADHD. I talked about what it was like getting diagnosed and what I have learned about myself since embracing my diagnosis. If you haven’t listened to that episode, click here to check it out.
After that episode was released, I received the most genuine and heartfelt feedback from other women who shared their own stories about being diagnosed with ADHD and not even realizing they had it. Which totally resonates with me!
In today’s episode, I’m talking with Denise Duffield Thomas, a successful entrepreneur and the creator of Money Bootcamp, about her journey with ADHD. As a child, no one ever suspected Denise had ADHD because she always had her nose in a book, performed excellently in school, and behaved well. But looking back, there were definitely signs.
Since Denise has been diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, she has developed practices that help her stay organized, focus on her strengths, and not get bored. Denise also shares how she maintains her focus in her business and her busy personal life.
In today’s episode, we’re specifically covering:
How Denise became aware of her ADHD
The benefits of being diagnosed with ADHD and understanding the way you think
The simplicity of having an ADHD brain and the choices we make
The stigma and negative views of ADHD
Incorporating certain constraints in your life
Outsourcing and making incremental upgrades
Having ADHD and how that affects your business model
