Step 1 – Identify the limiting belief
Right now your brain believes that this belief is a factā that it is always true.
Step 2 – Identify the empowering belief
This is the belief that a 6-figure business owner would believe that you WANT to believe instead.Ā
Step 3 – Poke holes in the limiting belief
Is the limiting belief ALWAYS true? Can you find any examples of when itās not true?
Step 4 – Find evidence of the empowering belief
Can you find any examples of the empowering belief being true SOMETIMES?Ā

Now that weāve established the Road Trip analogy for making 6-figures, itās time to dive deep into the first of the 3 resources you need: A car!
In this post weāre going to talk about my *favorite* thing: MINDSET.
As we discussed in Part 1, your beliefs are the car you are driving from where you are right now to having a six figure business.
But because Iāve been doing this work for 10 years, I also know how much people resist focusing on mindset work when they think they need strategy help.
I can hear the moans from your subconscious peanut gallery:Ā
Cāmon Courtney, can we just skip this part and get to the marketing strategies and action steps?Ā
I get that mindset is important blah blah blah, but how exactly is it going to help me make $100K from my business this year?
Isnāt āmindset workā just a bunch of woo woo BS?
If you donāt have the right mindset, you will never take the actions required to get your desired result.
Moreover, you will interpret your results according to the story you are already telling yourself (our Yay for 100Kā¢ clients know this as āData over Dramaā because we talk about it CONSTANTLY).
Here are a few examples of how this mismatch has shown up for our Yay for 100Kā¢ clients:
Right now I can guarantee that you have some of these seemingly factual beliefs that are causing you to take actions (or resist taking actions) that will help your business make $100K this year.
Why does this happen?
Iām not trained in NLP (neuro linguistic programming), but from what I understand there is a foundational concept that your beliefs create your āmodel of the worldā.
Your beliefs are the filter you use to judge reality.
Your beliefs are the thoughts you think repeatedly.
Your beliefs determine your actions.
Your actions determine your results.
As such, your beliefs will ALWAYS align with the results you are getting. Always.
Your current beliefs are creating your current results. Always.
Put another way:
You physically cannot make $100K in revenue from your business unless you have the beliefs of someone who makes $100K in revenue from their business.

If you donāt believe you can, you wonāt. Period.
Remember, to your brain a belief = a fact.Ā
To your brain, it is a FACT that you cannot hit 6 figures because of X, Y, Z reasons.
And itās not just you! You are not flawed (thatās just another unhelpful but totally common belief. I used to have it, too!
All of our clients have beliefs like this. I had them too. Itās a part of being human.Ā
The problem is that if you donāt believe that you can hit your goal, you wonāt.Ā
You will achieve what you believe you can achieve.Ā
You will make as much money as you believe you can make and not one dollar more.
You are currently earning the amount of money that youāre earning because you believe that you can.
But you donāt have to continue to believe the same things. Thatās what this article is about.

You will make $100K from your business when you believe it is already a FACT.
You will reach your goal when it no longer feels completely out of reach but the ālogical next stepā.
Like, duh! Of course Iām making $100K!
The day that your business crosses the $100K threshold, you might not even notice. It will feel like a normal Tuesdayā¦because it is!
No big deal.
But hereās the question:
How do you get out of the catch-22?
I want to be clear that while I am always open to all the woo woo concepts, my point here is based on solid logic.Ā
This isnāt about shouting affirmations in the mirror every morning.
This isnāt about lying to yourself, becoming a delusional con artist, or faking it ātil you make it. Please donāt do any of that.
Standing in front of the mirror saying, āI have a six figure businessā will just feel like a lie. Because it is. It wonāt help.
So what do you do instead?
How do you start to BELIEVE that you are someone who is making 100K per year from your business?
In short: BABY STEPS.
What are those steps?

Your current beliefs are the starting point. Take some time to jot them down in your Belief Ladder Workbook.Ā

What kind of thoughts does a six figure business owner have?
If your answer is, āFuck if I know!ā then you are NOT alone.
I know I sound like a broken record at this point, but thatās why I created the Belief Ladder Workbook. In there, I listed a whole slew of thoughts that, in my experience, every 6-7 figure business owner thinks.
Hint: What is the opposite of your limiting belief? For example, if your limiting belief is that āno one will hire meā maybe your empowering belief is that, āI find clients with easeā.Ā
THIS IS NOT ABOUT AFFIRMATIONS.
Affirmations areā¦great. Kind of.Ā
TBHā¦Iāve never had much success with them.
Affirmations are basically the beliefs that you WANT to believe but you donāt YET believe.
That part I agree with.
The idea is thatĀ you repeat these affirmations to yourself throughout the day and eventually you will believe them.
That part I do NOT agree with.
This brings us to Step 3ā¦
Now that you know where you are (limiting beliefs) and where you want to be (empowering beliefs) itās time to bridge the gap between the two.
There are 2 ways to do this:

ā ļø WARNING ā ļøYour mind will likely start to list more limiting beliefs here to explain why YOU are not able to charge this much even if other people do. Write them down. You can use the Belief Ladder on those beliefs, too!Ā
A few ways to do thisā¦
š„āI am open to the idea that I could book out with clients one day in the future at this new price point.ā
š„āI know people who charge more than this for services and are booked outā
š„āI have raised my prices before and still have clients.ā

To shift your limiting belief into an empowering one you need to do 3 things:
The more evidence you find that your empowering belief is true, the quicker you will believe it. The more holes you poke in your limiting belief (evidence that it is NOT true) the quicker you will stop believing it.

I recommend that you do this exercise at least once per week. The more you do it, the faster you will shift your beliefs.
