For the next couple of weeks, I’m introducing the Wannabe Entrepreneur Series: How to earn $2K per month.
In each article, I’m going to share a step that you must take towards earning that amount of money. This is the first article in the series, where I’m going to tell you why you need $2K per month and give you your first action step!
###
So you want to earn at least $2K per month as an entrepreneur?
You want to enjoy the perks of working for yourself?
Maybe you see all of these other entrepreneurs out there making money on the internet and you want what they have– the freedom to wake up when you want, the ability to travel on a moment’s notice, or even just the knowledge that you’re in control of how much money you make.
I totally know how you feel.
Back in 2011, I felt that way, too. I was so jealous of people making money on the internet that I felt sick.
I wanted to be an entrepreneur so badly. I knew that it was the right thing for me… but I had NO idea how I would convince someone to pay me money. It seemed like a silly pipe dream.
I can tell you now that IT’S NOT A PIPE DREAM.
Today, I’m absolutely convinced that every single person who wants to start an online business can start an online business. Including YOU.
And I’m not talking about making a few dollars every week with your Etsy shop or helping your neighbor with his yard work. I’m talking about earning a comfortable living!
At the time of this writing (August 2013), I’m doing just that. As I’ve documented in my monthly report: Project Moolah, I’ve crushed my goal of earning at least $2,000 per month with my business.
Why is $2,000 such an important number?
For one, $2,000 is the minimum amount of money that I need to live off of. (You may need a different amount. This totally depends on your lifestyle).
But more importantly, $2,000 is important because once you’ve started earning $2,000 per month with your business, it becomes exponentially easier to earn $4,000 per month!
I expect that I’ll be earning $4,000 in less than half the time that it took me to earn $2,000. (Within the next 6 months).
So the goal of the “Wannabe Entrepreneur Series” is to get you to that point of earning $2,000 per month.
I’m 198 bajillion percent committed to helping you get to that point.
The first step?
You have to decide that you’re going to do it.
By this time next year (at the absolute latest) you will be earning $2,000 per month with your online business.
Go ahead and write that down.
It may make you feel nervous – afraid of failing. That’s normal! I felt the EXACT same way one year ago.
Send yourself an email stating your commitment.
Decide that it’s a do-or-die mission.
Once you’ve done that, here’s the second step:
You have to create a compelling reason why.
If your “why” isn’t strong enough, you’ll give up on your goal by next Wednesday.
You’ll give up so fast you won’t even remember making the goal in the first place.
Your assignment is to write down the answer to this question:
Why do you need to make $2,000 per month by this time next year with your online business?
Stay tuned for the second part in the Wannabe Entrepreneur Series: How to earn $2K per month.

I did this! I wrote both those things down! Hand-written, on one of my many scraps of paper.
Hugely inspiration once again; I'm trying to be in the habit of writing down my longer-term goals every day, but I know it's going to make a HUGE difference to write down my one year goal regularly too. And especially my "Why"
Thanks, Courtney!
Sometimes it's almost creepy how "God" or "The Universe" or in this case YOU, Courtney, come at EXACTLY the right time. Goosebumps.
Yesterday I decided that I'm gonna make at least 2K per month with my business. That it's time and I'm ready to receive. (Kind of a big issue for me).
And today I open your email <3
I'm totally doing this and can't wait for your next emails! Big thank you and big hug,
Hannah
Marsha – I agree! It's good to have longer term goals as well as some more pressing goals. Hope this will help 🙂
Hannah – you win the award for best website photos! Cracks my shit up. And I'm so happy that this came at the right time for you! Love when that happens…
Courtney!
I found myself browsing around your website for some blogging and entrepreneur tips. I finally caved and started my own blog but I'm struggling finding my "niche" and figuring out what I want to do with it?! Where is the best place to start?
